The physical education program is designed to teach developmentally appropriate skills and games that will help children learn to be physically active throughout their lives. Students of all abilities are included into the class.

The curriculum for kindergarten through second grade focuses on developing skill themes and movement concepts. Students participate in games and activities that incorporate locomotor skills, spacial awareness, balance and coordination.

The curriculum for grades three through six focuses on fine motor skills and coordination. Students participate in the Project Adventure course, group initiatives, non-competitive games and modified team sports.

All fifth grade students will be administered the Fitnessgram test. The purpose of the testing is to determine each students level of fitness. The Fitnessgram test measures muscular strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.

Kindergarten students receive physical education once a week for thirty minutes, and students in grades one through six receive physical education for forty-five minutes per week.

Please be sure your child wears appropriate footwear for physical education class.
