Students in grades five and six may choose to join band and take group lessons in woodwind, brass or percussion instruments once a week. These group lessons are held before school. Band rehearsal is held once a week during school and currently takes place on Monday morning. Band members take part in several performance throughout the year, including Gates School concerts and the Memorial Day Service. Parental Support Parental support is a key factor in the success of a child’s music education. Please ask your child what they are doing in music class. If they are interested in taking private music lessons, the music department has a list of teachers for all instruments. Resources for Home Enjoyment of Music Indian Hill Music Center in Littleton provides music instruction and concerts.
